Our Story

The building where Luna Hotel now stands started as a simple love affair with Kas. Gordon and Marion, a couple from the UK, began like any other tourists, visiting Kas for the first time in the 1980s. They were left in awe by the picturesque streets, warm seas, and friendly locals. As typically happens with you just can’t get a place out of your head, their trips became more frequent until they finally decided to make Kas, and more specifically, the land where Luna Hotel now sits, home. After finding a plot of land perfectly situated between the city center and the quiet hillside, they got to work building their dream home. From the stonework that keeps the building cool in summer and warm in winter, to the trim, the wood of which was recovered and repurposed from the local primary school, they carefully considered every detail. It’s a beautifully crafted building built by lovers of Kas, for lovers of Kas.
In 2019, the property changed hands, the building was renovated, and Luna Hotel was born, ready to serve our guests with hospitality and warmth that would make Gordon and Marion proud. The building was purchased by a local team, friends and co-workers Ahmet and Can. Ahmet has lived in Kas his whole life, and doesn’t plan on leaving his beloved town. He was born into the tourism industry and learned all there is to know about the hotel business early on, working in his parents family-run guesthouse. Today it’s become even more of a family affair as his wife Marie and three children all help out with the business as well.
Can is also a Kas native and grew up surrounded by the tourism industry. He met his wife Gulsah on holiday in the city of Izmit. Naturally, after visiting him in the gorgeous seaside town of Kas, she fell in love with the town as much as the residents and was convinced to make it her home as well. Today, together with their two children, Can and Gulsah, as well Ahmet and his family, all work to make Luna Hotel the cozy, family-run business that it is.

Location

Luna Hotel is centrally located just off of Kas’s “Lykia Street”. To reach the hotel from the town square, turn right at the “Old House” bar, walking up Kas’s famous “Uzun Carsi”. Continue in the same direction as the cobblestones turn into pavement, and take the left just after the stone sarcophagus. Continue uphill along this street until it intersects another street. Just across you should see the “Kaputas Apart Hotel” sign. Walk up the stairs from this sign; continue up three flights of stairs to reach Luna Hotel, which will be on your right.
